My body was hurting all night long and I couldn’t breath. I went to the hospital, weak and all. I thought it was just from asthma and they said it was asthma. I was upset, because I wanted to go to the party a little bit.
I got to the hospital around 6:30pm in the evening. I registered and I didn’t get in until 8:00 p.m. I was back there crying, "My leg’s hurting." My chest pain was bad and I was a little shaky. I was told I had to stay. The whole time I am getting tested. I was thinking about how the party was jumping and I wanted to know why my body was hurting so bad.
The next day the first doctor said, "try to move your arm for me, please." All the night before I was calling the nurses and yelling at them that I couldn’t move. When I moved, it would hurt the back of my head. I was “mad” because they woke me up. The first doctor said, “Can you move your leg so that I can see were it hurts?” When I went to stand up, instead of moving my legs, I fell straight down to the floor.
Then the second doctor came in and told me the same and I fell again. I was crying more heavily than I was just a minute ago. Then the second doctor said “Let’s do some test. Maybe we can tell by that way.” Then they started testing. By later that day they told me I had walking pneumonia. When they told me I started to cry. I thought they meant it was cancer.
I called my mother and told her to come up, that it was some type of cancer. The whole time while I am in pain, she came asking for the doctors. Then both doctors came in and showed my mother the x-ray. It was caught just in time. They showed me but I couldn’t understand where it come from. They told me, but I still couldn’t believe death was in my path that young. My mother started to tell me that because I didn’t take my medicine in the hospital for at least two weeks, I'm hurting like hell.
I finally came home for good. At first I wasn’t going to take my medicine, but then I thought about it, and I started to take it. At first, I was getting sick, but I got used to the medicine. Now I’m used to it and it works just fine sometimes.
